Ron said something really impact-ful during his sermon last week. “We must follow Christ, even if we have to follow Him alone.”“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Friday, May 16th, 2008
Ron’s sermon this week used the illustration that mother giraffes will push down their children, until they learn to run away. Apparently, it is because that is the only defense they have against predators. Which is surprising … I thought it would be their ability to always evade a head-lock. Hmm. You learn something new every day.

I don’t really know who Faust is, but I had just watch Little Miss Sunshine, so I had the name in my head. And yes, that is an Iron Man ticket stub and yes I did want to cry from the amazing-ness. Thanks for asking.
Doctor Evil Heart
Friday, May 16th, 2008
At Wal-Mart the other day, Courtney and I were talking about what a more “evil” version of my heart monsters emblem would look like. We decided that it would need curlier horns, a broken heart, and a Dr. in the name. Obviously, this is all I was thinking about in our last web department meeting, though I blame my distraction on all the sugar from Bill’s birthday cake.
Shopping

So a couple of weeks ago, when we were planning that whole “End of the Year, Michelle’s Moving In, Something Something Something” party (no really, the name was really long), I made my shopping list, without using the normal ”list” convention. It was really just a bunch of letters squished together on a slip of receipt from buying gas. It ended up being the hardest thing ever to shop with.
The black and white haired guy is on a bag from Starbucks and the skull girl has a background that reminds me of this great Anberlin shirt that Courtney has.

Six Chair
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008
We had a speaker at Southside Christian Church the other week that spoke on his thoughts about how GOD calls some of us to pray and lead in different ways. His visual concept was a collection of six “chairs”, each having specific qualities depending on the type of person. I would give you more details, but he didn’t actually focus on each as much as would have been helpful.
Oh and it looks like I might be working with FCC again on some Admissions print/web materials.
